Military Family Support Services

Provided by Mainland BC Military Family Resource Centre (MFRC)

Provides programs and services to the Canadian Armed Forces Members and their Families.
The following programs are offered for adults:
  • Second language training: Offering French or English second-language learning services free of charge online through the Rosetta Stone program. This interactive software helps you learn at your own individualized pace in the comfort of your home.
  • Virtual healthcare: They provide virtual health care resources tailored to the military community.
  • Deployment support: Provide various deployment support services such as connecting families with other families, mail and package drop offs, and emergency childcare.
  • Counselling
  • Fitness and sports programs
  • Emergency financial assistance to help offset costs associated with care of a family member.
  • Information and resources


Provides the following programs to children and teens:
  • Soldier Bear toy gift for newborns
  • Resources and services to help children and teens develop independence and build support networks among peers with similar life experiences.


The MFRC serves all of British Columbia except Vancouver Island and Haida Gwaii.
