Provides outreach support to individuals who are homeless or housing insecure.
The Homeless Outreach workers meet with individuals to determine their housing needs, connect or introduce them to required services, and try to connect them with housing that’s appropriate and available. Outreach workers can offer:
- Immediate Assistance: Can connect people with emergency shelter options, ensuring they have a safe place to rest, eat, and freshen up.
- Finding Housing: Staff assist with the housing search, including completing applications, attending appointments or viewings, and providing information about available rent supplements.
- Referrals to Services: Participants can be connected with healthcare, counselling, and addiction recovery services to support their overall well-being.
- Supportive Housing: Guidance is available for those interested in long-term solutions such as supportive or subsidized housing, where rent is partially covered by government assistance.
- Help for Landlords: The program also serves as a resource for housing providers, helping to address questions or concerns related to tenancy.
