Developmental Disability Mental Health Services (DDMHS)

Provided by Interior Health

DDMHS is an Interior Health tertiary mental health program. The team provides specialized mental health assessment, consultation and brief treatment to individuals 14 years and older who have both an intellectual developmental disorder and moderate to severe psychiatric concerns. Prior to a specialist referral, it is important that primary and/or secondary services be consulted.


Services Include:
  • initial assessment, psychiatric assessment and treatment, consultation with the client & their support team to review and make treatment recommendations.
  • Direct therapeutic interventions adapted for the client population.
  • Individual and group consultation, client support, education & advocacy.
  • Transition to other community resources & supports.
