Virtual Intensive Outpatient Addiction Treatment Program (VIOP)

A comprehensive and intensive Online Addiction Treatment program to support addiction recovery, from the comfort of home, work or other mobile location.
VIOP is a no wait-time, comprehensive and structured 4-week, Virtual Intensive Outpatient Mental Health and Addiction Treatment Program (VIOP) in the comfort of the individual's own residence. This program is an easily accessible choice for people who may have limited access to traditional bed-based programs or obligations that limit their ability to be away from home to seek help for their mental health and substance use. Clients access the program through a secure online platform that can be accessed from a variety of mobile locations. All therapy sessions and groups are conducted by a master's level registered therapist. More information about the program features is available here.

Eligibility:
  • 18 years of age or older
  • The individual is struggling with mental health and/or addiction issues
  • They have access to a private and safe space to participate in groups and one-on-one therapy sessions
  • The individual is not experiencing active or untreated psychosis or severe mental illness (i.e., unable to participate in a group setting)
  • Does not have a severe eating disorder or Acquired Brain Injury
  • The individual does not have a sexual offending pattern (if there is concern, the point of contact can arrange for a consultation with the intake coordinator)


Referral into the VIOP is made through your Health Authority. Currently, the VIOP is free to Vancouver Island residence (VIH). Individuals residing outside of the VIH area are subject to private fees ranging from $4,200-$11,400 for the 4 week program.
