Family Support Services

Provided by Trail Family and Individual Resource (FAIR) Society

Free and individualized support for children and families in crisis or extra need of support. Also offers school workshops on communication and social skills for children.
Building Beautiful Babies – Pregnancy Outreach Program: A pregnancy outreach program that offers support, information and resources for pregnant/postpartum individuals and families with babies up to 12 months (siblings of babies welcome to attend group). The weekly drop-in group meets at the FAIR Family Centre, located in the Trail United Church, on Thursdays from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Group includes a light lunch and guest speakers. No pre-registration is required for the group; drop-ins are welcome. Food vouchers, free prenatal vitamins and a lending library are available through the Coordinator. Contact the Trail FAIR office for more information.

Nobody’s Perfect: Hands-on, practical skill-building group for parents offered twice per year; childcare provided.

Mental Health and Substance Use Family Support drop-in: Support and resources for families of people living with mental health and/or substance use concerns. Meets 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM on the first and third Wednesday of each month at the Columbia Ave building in Trail. All are welcome to attend. This group requires sign-up; please contact Lisa Melenka by noon the day before the group to register.

Circle of Security: This popular program is based on decades of research about how secure parent-child relationships can be supported and strengthened. Offered several times per year. Pre-registration is required. Contact the Family Advancement program for more information.

Muffins and Munchkins: A free drop-in group open to children 0-5years and their parents/caregivers. It runs Wednesday mornings and pre-registration is not required.
