Peer support provided by trained volunteers who have lived experience of mental illness.
CMHA offers a peer support program with trained volunteer workers who have lived experience with mental illness and therefore are in a unique position to offer support to others on their recovery journey. They provide personal and social support and help connect individuals to community services, resources, and interest-based groups.
Peer support workers have been screened and selected by the Peer Support Program Coordinator and trained in basic communication skills and peer support.
