Early Psychosis Intervention Program - For young adults experiencing a first psychotic episode - Kelowna

Provides early identification and treatment for first episode of psychosis. For residents (aged 19-30) of the Kelowna area, from Oyama to Peachland.
We encourage patients to call ahead for registration and they will be contacted by one of our clinicians. Only emergent cases will be seen in person. All other inquiries or requests are asked to call ahead and consultation will be provided by phone.
After Hours 24 hours a day call Regional Mental Health Crisis Line at no charge 1-888-353-2273.

Provides early intervention for schizophrenia spectrum, bipolar psychosis, and brief psychotic episodes.
For young adults aged 19-30 living in the Kelowna area, including Oyama, Lake Country, West Kelowna, and Peachland. This is one of four catchment areas for the Early Psychosis Intervention Program in the Interior Region.
Provides treatment for First Episode Psychosis and Schizophrenia. Primary spectrum disorders might not be appropriate.
Basic early psychosis services provided include:
  • complete assessment of symptoms and physical functioning
  • medication management
  • case manager
  • family support and education
  • client education
  • treatment of problems in living and other mental health issues
Anyone can refer including self-referral.
After Hours 24 hours a day call Regional Mental Health Crisis Line at no charge 1-888-353-2273. This number is provided to clients if they are experiencing increased symptoms outside of office hours. The crisis line provides clients with any emotional support needed and connects clients to various resources in the community including 911.
