Victim Services

Provided by Axis Family Resources

Provides support to women and children who are experiencing or have experienced violence in their lives.
Axis supports victims through the following services:
  • PEACE Program : This program is offered in 100 Mile House. It is an intervention and counselling program to address the needs of children and youth from homes where violence has occurred. The goal of the program is to help break the cycle of intergenerational trauma by directly helping children exposed to violence in relationships. Additionally, the program develops awareness for parents of how domestic violence affects their children and raises community awareness through violence prevention education at the community level. PEACE stands for Prevention, Education, Advocacy, Counselling, and Empowerment.
  • Outreach Services for Women: This program is offered in Williams Lake. It is a support service for women and their dependent children whose lives have been affected by violence and abuse, those who are thinking of leaving an abusive relationship, or those who have already left and need support to find and use community resources.
